Christmas creations!

Hi crafters!
Long  time no see!! I'm  sorry I haven't posted  anything for ages, work has been manic and there just aren't  enough hours in the day! I have been busy though with cards and orders for Christmas.
After learning how to put transfers onto candles at our workshop, my neighbour ordered a number  of candles with dragonflies, birds and nature on them and here they are.
I also made one for my mother  in law's birthday  with a matching  card.
I've also made quite  a few Christmas cards this year.  I used a layout that we were given at our workshop but changed it slightly. I embossed  the background and used a Sissix poinsettia  die to make  the flowers. The sentiment is from Lisa's  CD '12 Days of Christmas',

Sorry for the long post but i have a backlog of posts  for my blog
lol! I promise that I won't go awol again!!
I'd  like to enter my card in the Creative Card Crew Challenge  which is 'Anything Goes'.
Hope  you like  my Christmas creations and I'll be back again soon (I hope! )

Flowery cupcakes!

Hi crafters,
I managed to do some baking this morning and I was really chuffed with the way they turned out!
So I thought I'd put them on my blog lol. It was my first attempt at these flowers and I just wanted to share them with you!
They tasted pretty good too if I do say so myself hee hee.
I'm hoping to do some more baking this week too as it's half term, and some sewing (after watching sewing bee), some crochet (after my recent crochet workshop) and also some more Christmas cards and candles!!
There just isn't enough crafty time in the day is there!!

Selfie!

Hi crafters,
It's nearly the weekend again, yeah!
I've got a girly card to show you which I made for my niece.  The image was perfect for her and it's from Saturated Canary.
I added some die cut and punched flowers to give it a funky feel and I thought they suited the image! I've used kraft card for all my matting and layering.  I added some ribbon,  buttons and some card candy as finishing touches and a bit of glitter here and there of course!!
I'd like to enter my card in the 'Passion for Promarkers' challenge which is 'Let's get krafty'.
Thanks for looking,

Four legged friend!

Hi crafters,
Hope you're having a great weekend!
I made this Welsh birthday card for my niece and I've taken inspiration from Dawny P's style of cards which I think are great!
I've used papers and a stamp from LOTV, lots of gorgeous WOC flowers as well as some punched flowers dotted here and there!
I've coloured James the Bear with my promarkers and added glitter and pearls. I finished it with a border cut with my MS punch and added a lovely spotty ribbon and bow!
I'd like to enter my card in this week's Passion for Promarkers challenge which is 'four legged friends'.

Anniversary Couple

Hi crafters,
The boys are back in school so we've got some sort of routine back, yeah! So I managed to sit down and make a card for my brother and sister-in-law!
I saw this image from Tiddly Inks and thought it would be great for wedding and anniversary cards. I've coloured it with my promarkers, distressed the edges with Antique Linen and found some backing papers to match my colour scheme.
I added some peach coloured lace from my stash, a couple of butterflies and pearls and some WOC flowers, of course!
I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

'Anything Goes' at Crafting from the Heart and
     'Anything Goes' at Papertake Weekly

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Wedding dancers!

Hi crafters,
I've been doing a lot of wedding cards lately and here's the first one to show you. They asked for some 50's salsa dancers on the card so I printed this image of dancers in silhouette just incase I had the wrong dance lol!!
I used an X-cut die for the frame and some corner dies on the layer behind it. I added some WOC flowers, leaves from a Cheery Lynn die and some pins in matching colours.

I also made a presentation box for the card and used acetate and peel offs for the finishing touch.
I'd like to enter my card in the Papertake Weekly Challenge which is 'To Die for'.
I hope you like my card and thank you so much for looking,
Hugs, Karen xx

Sew special!

Hello again friends!
I'm back from my hols and ready to craft again lol!
I've made this birthday card for a friend who's just bought her first sewing machine. The image is from Lisa's CD 'A year in cards' and I printed off the digi image and coloured it with my promarkers to match the backing papers.  I added some coordinating buttons and threaded some matching thread on to the die cut reels. The tape measure ribbon added to the sewing theme! The sentiment is also from the CD and was perfect to finish off the card. I hope she likes it!
I'd like to enter my card in the 'button it' challenge at Passion for Promarkers.

Afternoon tea

Hi crafters,
We made a box frame card at our workshop on Saturday and I struggled a bit with it but I was determined to have another go and of course it was much easier the second time!
I wanted to make a leaving card for someone that was a bit different and I needed an afternoon tea theme so of course this image was perfect. It's from Lisa's CD 'A year in cards' and I've used one of the decoupage images. I made some bunting with some matching papers and added some glitter and pearls.
I'd like to enter my project in the 'Anything goes' challenge at Crafting from the heart.
Thanks for looking,

Bon Voyage!

Hi crafters,
I'm back with another card and Lisa's CD saved the day again!
I needed a card for someone who's leaving work to go off on their travels and this image was ideal!
I added some string to the sentiment to make it look like a luggage label and added some flowers to match. A bit of glitter and ribbon and job done. This 'A Play on words' CD has been brilliant for all my recent cards- all the backing papers are from the cd too!
I'd like to enter my card in the 'Anything goes' challenge at Crafting from the heart.
See you soon,

Get baking!

Hi crafters,
I'm really struggling in this gorgeous weather we're having, to sit down and craft! Not complaing though of course!
I've got so many cards to do at the moment so I've turned to Lisa's 'Play on Words' CD for help!
The first card is a Welsh 70th birthday card for a lady who loves to bake cakes so this image was perfect.
I added flowers in matching colours, some ribbon and pearls and then the card was done.

I made a box for the card as it was for a special birthday and some bunting gave it the 'bake off' feel!

I'd like to enter my card in the 'Anything goes' challenge at Fan-Tastic Tuesday.
Thanks for looking,
Hugs, Karen

Remember this Dad?

Hi crafters,
I've got a card to show you today that tells a story lol.
When my sister and I went away on holiday in our late teens, my Dad decided to varnish the louvre doors on our wardrobes. However,  he didn't think to empty the wardrobes first so all our clothes inside had a stripe of varnish on all the sleeves- aaargghh. We were absolutely horrified as most of our clothes were ruined! So when I saw this LOTV stamp, I knew what I had to do for his birthday card.
I coloured the image with my promarkers,  cut around it and placed it on the wardrobe doors. I used glossy accent on the brush and on top of the doors to represent the varnish and embossed the background to make it look  wallpaper on the bedroom walls!
He laughed out loud when he saw the card but couldn't believe that we were still thinking about it so many years later. I don't think we'll ever forget it!!
I'd like to enter my card in this week's challenge at Passion for Promarkers which is ' one for the boys/men'.
Thanks for looking,
Karen xx

Wine and dangly earrings!

Hi bloggers,
I'm here with a retirement card I was asked to make for someone who likes a glass of wine and dangly earrings!  They also wanted a pair of earrings on the card! Well,  I thought for ages how I could make the earrings part of the card without looking as though I'd just stuck them on!  Then I thought of this digi image of Alyssa relaxing, she has a glass of wine and I put the earrings in a bag, as though it was part of the pampering in the bathroom.  Do you think I got away with that?  I couldn't think what else to do lol!
I coloured the image with my promarkers,  paper pieced the bath and added glossy accents to the wine glass and bottle. Some stickles on the bubbles and pearls here and there finished off the card.  I hope she likes it anyway.
I'd like to enter my card in the ilovepromarkers.blogspot.co.uk challenge which is 'Digi does it'.
Thanks for looking and I'll be back soon hopefully!!

New Sketch at last!!

Hi crafters,
I've got an easel card to show you and I've used a new sketch, yeah! It's another layout from a card we made at my workshop and I've embossed all the layers with various embossing folders. I coloured the Magnolia  stamp with my promarkers and added a bit of stickles, I added some WOC flowers and I added the baby boy wording from a Sissix die I've never used! I'll definitely be using it again though!
It's hard to take a good photo of an easel card so here's a sideview of my card!

Some ribbon and pearls finished off the card and I made a box with the baby's name on the bunting!
I'd like to enter my card in the 'Anything goes' challenge at    Crafting from the heart and My Time to Craft,  which is 'No designer papers.
Thanks for  looking and I'll be back with a retirement card soon,

Gardening lady

Hi there crafters,
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.
I'm here with a card I was asked to make with  a gardening theme and this digi by Lisa was perfect!
I decided to use my favourite sketch for the last time, before you get fed up of seeing it in my cards lol!
I will look for a new sketch this week, I promise!
I added some flowers this time to match the colours in the image, with some Cheery Lynn leaves. A little glossy accent, glitter and ribbon finished it off and I'm told the lady absolutely loved her card!
I'd like to enter my card in the 'Love to Create' challenge which is 'Say it with flowers'.

18th and All Dressed Up

Hi crafters,
I made this 18th birthday card recently with a gorgeous digi image from 'All dressed up' which I coloured with my promarkers. I used my favourite sketch (again lol!) and used various embossing folders on the layers.
I added plenty of pearls and glitter to finish it off and found the gorgeous pearl ribbon in my stash. I nearly added some flowers but stopped myself just in time, hee hee!
I'd like to enter my card in the 'Anything goes' challenge at Crafting from the heart.
Thanks for looking and enjoy the weekend,

Can't help falling in love!

Hi crafters,
This is my Wedding Anniversary card for hubby-we celebrate 19 years of wedded bliss on Monday! Can't believe it's been that long! Our first dance was to Elvis as I am a big fan, so when I saw this stencil recently at Port Sunlight, I had to have it!!
I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it but thanks to our last cardmaking workshop, when we played with distress inks, I knew what to do!
I inked the stencil with Antique Linen and Dusty Concord, then stamped a swirl around the edges and embossed it with some holographic embossing powder. Bit different but I'm really pleased with how it turned out!
I added some music notes and ribbon, embossed the background and printed out some words from the song we danced to lol.
I'd like to enter this card in the 'Anything Goes' challenge at Crafting From The Heart.
I hope hubby likes it!
Thanks for looking,
Hugs, Karen xx

Little sis card

Hi crafters,
This is a card I made for my sister's birthday and I've used one of my favourite girly stamps, Uptown Girls from Stamping Bella.
I've used some lotv and Basic Grey papers and paper pieced the dresses to match!
I've used some plain white flowers and added some punched flowers to the centres with a pearl. I added glossy accent to their wine glasses and added some blusher with chalk- still can't use promarkers to give rosy cheeks!  A couple of polka dot buttons, a charm and pearls finished off the card.
I'd like to enter this card in the creativecardcrew challenge which is 'Girly'.

Cute Welsh Wedding

Hi crafters,
I made this wedding card for a friend this week and used a fold that I learnt at my workshop ages ago and I haven't used it for ages! Definitely going to use it again though now I've found the instructions!
I used a LOTV stamp and coloured it with my promarkers.  I used various embossing folders and added a matching ribbon, glitter and flowers, of course!
I added a sentiment with the name of the couple getting married as well as the wedding date. You can just about see it as it was really difficult to take a photo of the card because of all the folds!
I'd like to enter this card in the Passion for Promarkers challenge which is 'so sentimental'.
Thanks for looking,

Mother's Day Card

Hi crafters,
I've got a mother's day card to show you using a gorgeous house mouse stamp from the Spring Daffodil unmounted set.
I've coloured it in with my promarkers and added stickles to the flowers.
To help get my mojo back, I used one of the sketches from Deconstructing Jen number 125 which are great. I used some of the lovely Lili of the Valley papers, a bit of bling on the ribbon and some pearls finished off the card.  I embossed one of the layers to give the card some depth and added the little mouse in the corner just for fun! Well, I'd coloured him in so I was determined to add it to the card somehow!
I'd like to enter my card in this week's challenge at Passion for Promarkers  which is 'embossing'.
Thanks for looking,

CAS Card-ish?!!

Hi crafters,
This is a card I made using a great digi from the All Dressed up shop and it's called 'Love to shop'. I coloured it in with my promarkers and I had a CAS card in mind so I limited my colours to purple and blue. When I came to put the card together though I just kept adding things as I felt it needed something in the corner,  then the other side looked bare, so I added more in that corner and I realised I just can't do the CAS thing!!
Oh well,  I tried lol!
I'd like to enter my card in the Passion for Promarkers challenge which is to 'make it digital'.
Thanks for popping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Hugs, Karen xx

New Baby Boy Card for Horse Lovers!

Hi crafters,
I've got a New Baby card to show you but it's a bit different to my usual new baby cards! I was asked to make this card for people who love horses so this digi stamp was perfect. It's one of Lisa's gorgeous creations from 'Ella's Designs'. I have decoupaged the image and used some gorgeous backing papers from Lili of the Valley.
I added a doily, some heart pearls and a couple of buttons and I hope I've made it look like a new baby boy card!!
I'd like to enter this card in thePapertake Weekly Challenge 'With a Heart'.
Thanks for looking,

That sketch again!

Hi crafters,
I've got a new baby card to show you with a favourite sketch that I've used a few times now!
It's using the Magnolia stork stamp which I coloured with my promarkers and I've used a variety of embossing folders on the white card which is great for using up all those bits of card I've got in the drawer!  I added some ribbon and glitter, die cut the letters for the baby's name and it was done.
I'd like to enter my card in the 'Anything Goes' challenge on the Passion for Promarkers blogspot.

I made a couple more whilst I was colouring in, one in pink and one in yellow, I've just left room for baby's name or just a sentiment.
Thanks for looking,
Hugs, Karen

Pink again!!

Hello bloggers!
My card today is one I made for my niece's birthday. I seem to have gone for pink again but I really enjoyed colouring this image with my promarkers, although I don't think I got her hair quite right. Oh well, must keep practising!  I added plenty of stickles on the wings and added a few gems by the flowers which are all from WOC. There is a tag hidden behind the image which I hope she found!!
I'd like to enter my card in the Passion for Promarkers challenge which is "just a fairytale".
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like my card,
Hugs, Karen

What? No flowers?!!

Hi crafters,
This was a card that was ordered by someone at work who wanted a 50th birthday card - nothing too flowery! What a challenge that was, I was desperate to put maybe a couple of flowers on it but I resisted and used pearls as a bit of bling instead!  I coloured the image with my promarkers/flexmarkers and tried to keep it quite subtle. I then embossed the various layers with different embossing folders and used a brilliant layout that I got from the fantastic cardmaking workshop I go to with Sylvia and Lisa from Ella's Design.
I'd like to enter my card in the Passion for Promarkers which is 'Clean and simple'.
I hope you like my card and thanks for looking,
Hugs,  Karen xx
