Ribbon and / or Lace

  Hi crafters,

I hope you've all had a good week and ready for a brand new challenge at Passion for Markers.

Our lovely Kitty has given us the fab theme of 'Ribbon and/or lace' this week - nice and easy as we all have a ribbon stash that needs using up I'm sure!!
We are kindly sponsored by The Paper Shelter and they are offering a great prize of 3 digi images from their online store.

The Design Team were lucky enough to have this gorgeous image from The Paper Shelter to play with this week and she's called Maggie - isn't she gorgeous?

I've coloured the image with my promarkers and kept the colours to just blues and greys.  I found some backing paper from my stash and the grey/silver paper was in a surprise bundle I was kindly given by a neighbour.  It's just a shame I've covered most of it up so you can't even see it!!
I embossed some white card behind the image and diecut some flowers and leaves in white card as well.  Some grey shiny dots were added to the centre of the flowers and the ribbon finished off the card.
I hope you're able to join in with this week's challenge and don't forget, you can use any of your markers - just be sure to follow the theme to be in with a chance of winning this week's fabulous prize.
I look forward to seeing your gorgeous creations,
Hugs, Karen x

Special Anniversary challenge!

 Good morning crafters,

I hope you had a good week last week and managed to fit some crafting into your busy schedules.

Onto this week's challenge at Passion for Markers and we have a very special one for you this week as it's our 12th Anniversary.   As it's a special challenge we have a really fun theme for you of "spots and/or stripes".  As the title suggests you can make anything you like this week as long you include some spots, stripes or both!  We are hoping to see lots of entries but please note that as we have extra prizes up for grabs this week we are only accepting a maximum of 3 entries per person for this one challenge only.  The only other rules we have are use your markers and have fun!

As always we have some fantastic prizes up for grabs and our sponsors have been very generous as usual.  Here we go....

Bugaboo Stamps are offering a $12.00 voucher

Crafty Sentiments Designs are offering 3 digi images

Dr Digi’s House of Stamps are offering one lucky winner 2 digi images

JMC Designs are offering one lucky winner 1 digital collection

Leann’s World 101 are offering one lucky winner 2 digi images

Wow, I told you there were amazing prizes didn’t I?  Definitely lots of reasons to join in the fun this week!! Don't forget to visit the blog and see all the inspiration from both teams!

I've made a New Baby card this week using a sweet little image from LOTV,

I coloured it with my promarkers and found some perfect dotty paper to match.  I diecut some flowers from the same paper and also added an extra cloud so that I could add the baby's date of birth!  Some ribbon and co-ordinating bunnies were added, as well as the name and weight of the baby just to personalise it a bit more.

Please remember for this challenge we will only accept 3 cards/projects per person.  Also just for this one week we will not be choosing a Top 5 Passionista as we have lots of extra winners, however this will go back to normal next week.

I hope you have a brilliant week and I can't wait to see what you create.  Good luck!

Hugs,

Say it with Flowers

Hi crafters,

It's my turn to host this week's challenge at Passion for Markers and I have chosen the theme of 'Say it with flowers'.  I would love to see any type of flower on your creation, whether it's an image, or some embellishments or even the backing papers - as long as there are flowers you'll be eligible for this week's amazing prize.

We are kindly sponsored by Crafty Sentiments and they are offering the lucky winner a choice of 3 digi images from their online store.  They have some gorgeous images and you'll be spoilt for choice with this brilliant prize.

I've used one of their digis called  'A gentle Touch' for my card this week.

I made an Anniversary card for my brother and sister in-law and this image was absolutely perfect!  These little bears are so cute and I coloured them with my promarkers.
I used a layout from one of our workshops from ages ago and managed to co-ordinate the papers with the colours I used for the bears!

This is the inside of the card where I die cut the sentiment a couple of times to give it a bit of dimension.  I diecut some flowers and used some ink on them so that they matched my colours!  A ribbon and some glitter finished off the card!

I hope you're able to find some crafty time this week to join in with my challenge.  Don't forget, you can use any of your markers - just make sure you follow the theme to be in with a chance of winning this great prize.
I look forward to seeing your gorgeous creations.
Hugs,
Karen x

I'd like to enter my card in the latest challenge at Crafty Sentiments which is 'Anything Goes'.

 Hi crafters,

Hope you are all keeping well and managing to find some time to craft!  There's a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers and our lovely Elaine has given us the fab theme of 'Add a heart'.

We are sponsored by Dies to Die For this week and they are very kindly offering the lucky winner a £15.00 voucher to spend in their online store.  A fabulous prize I'm sure you'll agree!

I've made a new baby girl card this week and I thoroughly enjoyed colouring this with my promarkers:

This is an LOTV stamp which is just perfect for a New Baby card!  I created a patchwork style  background with papers and some heart embossed card.  I added some bunting and a diecut teddy bear which just so happened to also have hearts on them!  I diecut some flowers and added some polka dot buttons and the name and date of baby's birth was added to a heart shape die!  Some glitter here and there was the finshing touch to my card!
Well I hope you can join in with this week's challenge.  Remember to follow the theme and you can use any of your markers to be in with a chance of winning this amazing prize.
I look forward to seeing your gorgeous creations,
Hugs, Karen x

Animal Antics

 Hi crafters,

There's a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers and this week, our lovely Nat has given us a fab theme of 'Animal Antics'.  Nat would love to see your creation with any type of animal - whether it's an image or an embellishment!

We are kindly sponsored by Leann's World 101 and they are offering the lucky winner a choice of 2 digi images from their online store.

I've used one of their images for my card this week and this one is entitled 'Dog Walker Annie'

I coloured the image with my promarkers and also used my prismacolour pencils to add a bit more definition here and there.  I used border diecuts to give the cloud shape at the top and the curved shape at the bottom and added some co-ordinating papers behind these borders.  I stamped the sentiment and added some enamel dots too.  I added some glitter and gems to the butterflies and tried to keep it as a CAS style card!

Well I hope you can find some crafty time to join in with this week's challenge and don't forget - you can use any type of marker, just remember to follow the theme in order to be eligible for this week's great prize.

Thanks for dropping by and I'll see you again soon.

Hugs, Karen x

Bunnies and/or blooms

 Hi crafters,

Our lovely Lisa G has chosen the theme for the brand new challenge at Passion for Markers this week and Lisa would love to see your creations with bunnies and/or blooms.  A great theme I'm sure you'll agree and we are kindly sponsored by Uniko Stamps who are offering the lucky winner 1 stamp set (which must be in stock).

I used a House Mouse stamp that I haven't used for ages and made a Welsh New Baby card.
It's not a great photo unfortunately but I coloured the image with my promarkers and added lots of glitter!  The background is embossed with a stitched embossing folder which you can't really see and I added a few extra heart diecuts.  I stamped the sentiment onto the circle die cut - it's so much easier with a stamping platform, it gives you the confidence to stamp anywhere on your card without fear of ruining the whole thing!!
A few corner dies and a lovely pink ribbon was the finishing touch - I'm just sorry about the awful photo.
Anyway, I hope you're able to find some crafty time to join in with this week's challenge.  Don't forget, you can use any type of marker - just remember to follow the theme to be in with a chance of winning this amazing prize.
See you soon!
Hugs, Karen x

Soft Finishes

Hi crafters,

Hope you're all doing OK,  I'm here to let you know about the brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers and this week, our lovely Linda has given us the great theme of 'Soft Finishes'.

We are kindly sponsored by Colour of Love and they are offering the lucky winner a choice of 3 digi images from the online store.  The digis available are all absolutely amazing so you'll be spoilt for choice with this prize!

The Design Team were lucky enough to choose one of their gorgeous digis to work with and I used 'Cosmos' for my card.

I coloured the image with my promarkers and then masked the digi to create the clouds in the background,  This is my first attempt at this technique but I've seen so many cards recently with clouds that I had to have a go!  I used Weathered Wood distress ink and a blending brush and was quite pleased with the result - may even have another go soon!
I wanted the image to be the main focus of the card so all I added was a gorgeous ribbon and a button on the bow.  I also added a touch of glitter on her wings and the sentiment was a freebie with a recent magazine.
I hope you can find some crafty time to join in with this week's challenge and remember, you can use whatever markers you have - just remember to follow the theme to be eligible for this week's great prize.
I look forward to seeing your gorgeous creations.
Hugs, Karen x
