Hi crafters,

This week we are launching our very special “Mega Christmas challenge” at Passion for Markers which runs for a whole month and ends on 4th January 2022!  Both design teams have worked extremely hard once again this year and are having a little break to catch up on their last minute gifts and cards.  However to make up for the lack of challenges we have some fantastic prizes up for grabs!

Our theme for the Mega Christmas challenge is “anything goes”.  We don't mind what you create for this challenge.  You are welcome to make Christmas creations but as the challenge will still be running after the ‘BIG’ day you can of course make any type of creation.  As time is precious for our DT at this time of year we are limiting the number of entries you can make to just 3 for this month long challenge.  Please remember to be eligible for our prizes you must use your markers such as Promarkers, Copics, Spectrum Noir, Karin, Zig Clean Color etc.  Thanks x x

So now for the exciting bit – the prizes!

Wow we are sure you’ll agree our sponsors have been super generous once again this year!

I've made a card similar to one that we made at one of our cardmaking workshops which is actually starting again this weekend and I can't wait!!

I printed the poinsettia digis from one of Lisa's CD's (The 12 Cards of Christmas) and coloured them in with my promarkers.  I then fussy cut them out and decoupaged them onto foam pads.  I added some diecut leaves which I coloured with distress inks and added a little gem to the centre of the flower.  I added some diecut stars, banners and holly and stamped the sentiment.  I also inked all the edges of my papers.
Well I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and all the very best for the New Year.
I also hope you'll be able to find some crafty time to join in with this Mega Christmas Challenge as the prizes really are amazing!
I'll see you in 2022!!

It's time for a brand new challenge at Passion for Markers and this week, our lovely Linda has given us the lovely theme of  'Happy & Thankful'.

We are very kindly sponsored by The Paper Shelter and they are offering the lucky winner a choice of 3 digi images from their online store.  Such an amazing prize and their images are all absolutely gorgeous.

I coloured the image with my promarkers and added lots and lots of glitter!!  I kept my colour scheme to blue, grey and white and added lots of white die cuts, and added some grey distress ink to the edges.
I found the blue sign post on one of Lisa's CD's called 'The 12 days of Christmas' and it was a perfect match to my blue and grey card.

I hope you can find some crafty time to join in with this weeks's challenge.  Remember, you can use any of your markers just make sure you follow the theme to be eligible for this week's prize.

'3 of a kind'

Hi crafters,

There's a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers and our lovely Kitty has chosen the fab theme of '3 of a Kind'.

We are kindly sponsored by JMC Designs and they are offering the lucky winner 1 digital collection from their online store which is absolutely full of gorgeous images so you'll be spoilt for choice with this prize!

I have used one of their fab images on my card this week and this one is called 'Cream Tea Chalet'.

I decided to do some paper piecing for this image and used co-ordinating papers for each cup,  I added some shading to the cups and colored the rest of the image with my promarkers.  I added 3 diecut banners in the same papers, as well as 3 diecut toadstools to follow the theme of  '3 of a kind'!  Some glitter and enamel dots finished off the card as well as the stamped sentiment.

Well I hope you'll be able to join in with this great challenge.  Don't forget, you can use any of your markers - just remember to follow the theme to be in with a chance of winning this great prize.

Flower Power

Hi crafters,

It's time for a brand new challenge at Passion for Markers and I've chosen this week's theme of 'Flower Power'.  I love adding flowers to my card, whether they're die cut, on backing papers or punched flowers - I hope you'll be able to play along too!  We are kindly sponsored by Dr Digi's House of Stamps and they are offering the lucky winner a choice of 2 digi images from their online store.

I've used one of their gorgeous images on my card this week and this one is called 'Cuddly Critters - Squirrel'

I've coloured the image with my markers and used my prismacolour pencils to get the fur effect on the tail!  I inked and die cut the flowers to match the backing papers as well as some punched leaves.

I added a pearl to the centre of the flowers and the sentiment was a freebie from a craft magazine. I cut round the sentiment and added it to the card on foam pads - a technique that our lovely Lisa taught us in our workshops!

Well I really hope you'll be able to join in with this week's challenge.  Don't forget, you can use any of your markers - just remember to follow the theme to be eligible to win this fab prize!

I look forward to seeing your gorgeous creations and I'll see you soon.

Add a Sentiment

 Hi crafters,

Can you believe it's the last day of August already?!!  It's also time for a brand new challenge at Passion for Markers and this week, our lovely Linda has given us the fab theme of 'Add a Sentiment'.

We are kindly sponsored by Dr Digi's House of Stamps and they are offering the lucky winner a choice of 2 digi images from their online store.

We were lucky enough to have one of their images to use on our cards this week and I chose this one called 'Chaz the Chimp'.

'

I've used some distress ink  through a stencil for the background behind the diecut bricks.  I coloured the image with my promarkers and fussy cut it out,  I then stamped and coloured some leaves and added them to the top of the image to look as though the chimp is swinging in the forest!!
I printed the sentiment on the computer in different fonts and added a couple of enamel dots to finish!
I added 'Happy Birthday' to the inside of the card to complete the sentence!!
I hope you'll be able to join in with this week's challenge - we all add sentiments to our cards so I'm sure you'll have a creation to enter.  Don't forget you can use any of your markers - just make sure you follow the theme to be eligible for the prize.

I found this LOTV sentiment in my stash and the balloons on it were exactly the same shape!! I've inked all the layers and added a bit of string to the white tag behind the image.

Keep it Slim

Hi crafters,

Hope you are all having a good week so far!  I'm here to tell you about our brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers which has been chosen by our lovely Lisa G.   She would like to see your slimline creations this week and we are kindly sponsored by Dr Digi's HOS who are offering the lucky winner a choice of 2 digi images from their online store.

The Design Team were lucky enough to have one of their images to play with this week and I chose this one called 'Hole in One Hal'

My brother is golfing mad so this image is perfect for his birthday card!

I used my distress inks and a cloud stencil to create the sky and I used a wavy border stencil to create the golfing greens!  I didn't want the image to be lost in backing papers so I was very brave and made my own background!!  I diecut a couple of extra clouds and added some birds with a fineline pen.  The sentiment was stamped and I die cut the letters to personalise the card.  I even embossed the card candy to look like golf balls but I don;t think it shows in the photo!

I enjoyed making this shape card - they seem to be very popular at the moment so why not join in with this week's fab challenge.  Don't forget, you can use any of your markers - just let us know what you've used and make sure you follow the theme to be eligible for this great prize.
I look forward to seeing your lovely creations.

Masculine

 Hi crafters,

It's time for a brand new challenge at Passion for Markers and this week, our lovely Linda has given us the fab theme of 'Masculine'.  We are kindly sponsored by Colour of Love and they are offering the lucky winner a choice of 3 digi images form their online store.

I've used one of their images called 'Ten Gallon Ted' for my card this week.

I've used a layout that we had at a recent online workshop (thanks Lisa!) and I coloured the image with my promarkers.  I matched the colours with the papers and added dots to his scarf with a white gel pen so that it matched the dotty paper!  Here's a picture of the card from the side so that you can see the layers a bit better.

I also printed a sentiment from one of Lisa's CD's which matched the colours on the card perfectly!

I hope you can find some crafty time to join in with this week's challenge.  Remember, you can use any of your markers - just make sure you follow the theme to be eligible for this fabulous prize.
I look forward to seeing your gorgeois creations.

Ribbon and / or Lace

  Hi crafters,

I hope you've all had a good week and ready for a brand new challenge at Passion for Markers.

Our lovely Kitty has given us the fab theme of 'Ribbon and/or lace' this week - nice and easy as we all have a ribbon stash that needs using up I'm sure!!
We are kindly sponsored by The Paper Shelter and they are offering a great prize of 3 digi images from their online store.

The Design Team were lucky enough to have this gorgeous image from The Paper Shelter to play with this week and she's called Maggie - isn't she gorgeous?

I've coloured the image with my promarkers and kept the colours to just blues and greys.  I found some backing paper from my stash and the grey/silver paper was in a surprise bundle I was kindly given by a neighbour.  It's just a shame I've covered most of it up so you can't even see it!!
I embossed some white card behind the image and diecut some flowers and leaves in white card as well.  Some grey shiny dots were added to the centre of the flowers and the ribbon finished off the card.
I hope you're able to join in with this week's challenge and don't forget, you can use any of your markers - just be sure to follow the theme to be in with a chance of winning this week's fabulous prize.
I look forward to seeing your gorgeous creations,

I hope you had a good week last week and managed to fit some crafting into your busy schedules.

Onto this week's challenge at Passion for Markers and we have a very special one for you this week as it's our 12th Anniversary.   As it's a special challenge we have a really fun theme for you of "spots and/or stripes".  As the title suggests you can make anything you like this week as long you include some spots, stripes or both!  We are hoping to see lots of entries but please note that as we have extra prizes up for grabs this week we are only accepting a maximum of 3 entries per person for this one challenge only.  The only other rules we have are use your markers and have fun!

As always we have some fantastic prizes up for grabs and our sponsors have been very generous as usual.  Here we go....

Bugaboo Stamps are offering a $12.00 voucher

Crafty Sentiments Designs are offering 3 digi images

Dr Digi’s House of Stamps are offering one lucky winner 2 digi images

I've made a New Baby card this week using a sweet little image from LOTV,

I coloured it with my promarkers and found some perfect dotty paper to match.  I diecut some flowers from the same paper and also added an extra cloud so that I could add the baby's date of birth!  Some ribbon and co-ordinating bunnies were added, as well as the name and weight of the baby just to personalise it a bit more.

Please remember for this challenge we will only accept 3 cards/projects per person.  Also just for this one week we will not be choosing a Top 5 Passionista as we have lots of extra winners, however this will go back to normal next week.

I hope you have a brilliant week and I can't wait to see what you create.  Good luck!

Hugs,

Karen x
